Ideas To Bathroom Remodeling
Posted on August 12th, 2010 No commentsObviously, your bathroom is a vital component of this process; here are some bathroom renovation ideas to help get your project off on the right foot.
When it comes time to bathroom renovation, one of the biggest considerations is the shower stall. You can have the rest of the bathroom style exactly how you want it, but if the shower stall doesn’t match, this look just isn’t going to fly.
The first thing to consider (and probably the most important) is how much room you have available. Bathroom shower stalls come in all shapes and sizes, and purchasing one that doesn’t fit your bathroom renovation project will just waste time and money, even if you do get to take it back. Measure the area you have for your shower before going shopping to ensure you purchase a shower stall that fits your available space.
The style of the stall is extremely important to ensuring that your bathroom renovation project works out. If this doesn’t match the rest of your bathroom’s design, no matter how great the shower stall looked at the store, this just isn’t going to work.
One of the best bathroom renovation ideas to make sure that the stall matches your bathroom is to bring a picture of your bathroom with you when shopping. This way, you can easily hold it up and compare how the shower stall would fit into your bathroom.
If you are on a budget, you will be pleased to know that most shower stalls start for as little as $200, and go up from there. If money is an issue for your bathroom renovation project, try to stay around this minimum price target; if you do have money to spare, then you can expand your search for a more trendy (and also expensive) style.
If you are on a budget, start your search at discount stores, and if at all possible, attempt to purchase the shower stall directly from the manufacturer to avoid the typical store markups. When all else fails, look online. Often times, you can find much better deals for home appliances on the internet than you’d ever find in your typical retail store.
The great thing about shower stalls is that, unlike most of your other bathroom renovation appliances, they are very easy to install yourself. Most likely, you won’t need to hire a professional to do this, because the shower stalls comes with instructions that make them simple even for a complete novice to complete. However, if you really don’t have the time to do it yourself, you can usually find a professional to do this simple job relatively cheaply.
These are just a few bathroom renovation ideas that will help you find the shower stall that’s right for you relatively quickly and affordably. Obviously, there are many choices when deciding on a new shower stall.
The most important thing to keep in mind is to shop around before making your purchase; don’t fall in love with the first one that you see.

Marble Tile Installation For Dummies
Posted on January 8th, 2009 No commentsYou can save a lot of cash with your a great looking marble floor if you just install them yourself. It’s not really hard to do and you might even find yourself having fun with all the work, if you like working with your hands. You are only going to need some patience and hard work and you will be able to finish the job completely.
Have some of the materials ready before you start working. You are going to need a bucket, a plywood, some pieces of cloth and some fasteners, a level and a trowel. You need to ready some safety goggles, working gloves and a dust mask. And don’t forget the most important material of all, the marble tiles and a bag of cement.
When you’re cutting the tiles, make sure you don’t cut along the fissures in the rock because marble tiles usually crack along these lines. Cover the tiles in masking tape first if you’re not too confident in your cutting abilities and cut the marble tiles perpendicular or across the natural fissures of the rock. Make sure you’re wearing your goggles and gloves as well.
Lay the tiles down firmly. Do not slide them into place because the cement can get pushed to the sides and in between the tiles and this is going to be trouble. Use tile spacers to set the marble tiles in uniform distance and make sure you keep all the joints straight. Repeat the process and you’ll have an elegant marble floor in no time at all.
Marble floors are elegantly beautiful. It can easily enhance any room’s appearance. And if you do it yourself, all it’s beauty can be yours in a considerably cheaper price.
