Design Ideas For The Baby’s Room
Posted on August 13th, 2010 No commentsNothing can compare to the happy anticipation enveloping a home waiting for the arrival of their newest family member. To curb their excitement, some parents wile away the waiting time by thinking up of ways to beautify the nursery. Choosing the best interior design for the little angel can sometimes be a daunting task, especially if the baby is the first one for the family.
Many parents choose themed interior design for their child’s room. So it’s really no wonder that moms and dads have so much fun in preparing the “nest” for their little one. The parents must always keep in mind to create themes that will assist in their child’s growth and development.
Along with a well thought out design for the room, parents should make sure that child safety measures are applied in the nursery to keep the little one safe. Child safety is the main priority, and in interior design, there should be no exception; thus, using child-safe equipment is advocated for.
A mural is a fun interior design element that can be added to an infant’s room. If one or both parents are artistic, they can paint the walls (using lead-free and non-toxic paint) themselves.
A simple interior design concept that mommas and poppas can apply in the child’s room is the apply of bright colors against bland ones. In order to pull this off, moms and dads need to select a particular part or item in the room (e.g., the baby’s crib, door, windows, ceiling or wall) and paint it a bright hue while painting the rest of the components in the room in a subtle color, such as peach or cream. There are some moms and dads who like to paint clouds on the nursery’s ceiling. Then, they also paint in glow in the dark stars so that the sky effect is maintained even when the lights are out.
Other whimsical ideas include creating nursery motifs featuring cartoon characters or murals depicting natural scenes, such as underwater motifs or western motifs. Parents just need to ensure that the colors are not garish, as overly bright colors tend to over-stimulate infants and small children. Instead, the main color scheme could be pastel or any other soothing color.
